Infection Control

Infection Control has always been a priority at Classic Concepts.  During this transition we want to ensure our patients that we are following all guidelines set by the CDC, OSHA, the ADA, and the Iowa Dental Board.  


Dental office's have been held to a higher standard of infection control and universal precautions  since the 1980's.  We appreciate our patients trust in our office, as our patients and team's safety is of the upmost importance to Dr. Pins.    


Appointment Protocol

Prior to your appointment please look for a text and/or e-mail that will ask you to complete a COVID screening.   If you are experiencing any symptoms or have had contact with a COVID positive person, we will reschedule your appointment.


ARRIVING TO YOUR APPOINTMENT:

  • Please "check-in" by responding to one of our texts or calling our office at 563-285-5600
  • A mask or face covering is required to enter our office.
  • Please remove any gloves in your car ( to help prevent cross contamination).  
  • Upon entering office you will be provided with hand sanitizer, then brought to your treatment room.     


We ask for your understanding through this process as it is important for overall public safety.  Please be kind to our staff, this is unprecedented times and we are adjusting to the new flow that greatly increases our workload.


Children under 18, will be required  to have a parent or guardian with them on the premises.  We ask to please make arrangements for other children, as only one person will be allowed in the office.  Parents may be asked to wait in their cars.


You will notice that our team will be using additional Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), you may see hair coverings, gowns, and additional face masks and shields.  Effective January 1, 2021 the PPE fee is no longer being added to each appointment.   Due to unforeseen circumstances, this is subject to change in the future. 

COVID Screening Questions

If you have any of the following symptoms or exposures, we kindly ask that you phone our office as soon as possible so that we may reschedule your appointment.  


Please let us know ASAP if any of the following applies to you: 


  • Have you experienced a fever in the last 14 days?
  • Are you having shortness of breath or breathing difficulties?    
  • Do you have a cough?  
  • Do you display any flu like symptoms, gastrointestinal upset, headaches or fatigue?
  • Have you recently loss sense of taste or smell?
  • Have you been in contact with a COVID positive patient?
